Quotes About Dreams and Goals

This self improvement post ties into last week's blog article titled "What is Your Goal in Life?". If these quotes about dreams and goals inspire you enough to put forth some action then I encourage you to read that post as well.

Anyways, I've been spending a lot of time lately going over my dreams and goals. Getting clear on such an important subject is just so important. Unfortunately, we're always changing and growing. What is our dream today may be a pitiful joke to us in 5 years. That's just the way life is. And for that reason I suggest you look over your dreams, goals and aspirations.

I was prompted to list some quotes about dreams and goals because I came across a few good ones reading various articles and random internet stuff lately. But really, my real goal with this post is to get you thinking about your own dreams, your own goals, and maybe even get you to start believing that you really have no limits except the ones you put on yourself.

Quotes About Dreams and Goals - Personal Development Quotes

Quotes About Dreams and Goals

Keep away from people who try to belittle your ambitions.
Small people always do that, but the really great make you feel that you too can become great.

Mark Twain
Bottom line: Surround yourself with positive influences. Your "inner circle" will influence you!

You take your life in your own hands, and what happens?
A terrible thing: no one to blame.

Erica Jong

Life is either a daring adventure or nothing.

Helen Keller

Great spirits have always encountered violent opposition from mediocre minds.
The latter cannot understand it when a man does not thoughtlessly submit to hereditary prejudices but honestly and courageously uses his intelligence.

Albert Einstein

People are always blaming their circumstances for what they are.
I don't believe in circumstances.
The people who get on in this world are the people who get up and look for the circumstances they want. And if they cant, make them.

George Bernard Shaw
Bottom line: Take responsibility for everything in your life. Only you can change it.

Often people attempt to live their lives backwards.
They try to have more things, or more money, in order to do more of what they want so they will be happier.
The way it actually works is the reverse.
You must first be who you really are, then do what you need to do, in order to have what you want.

Margaret Young
Bottom line: As Zig Ziglar says, you must Be, Do, then Have.

Unless you start doing something different, you are in for more of the same.

This life is a test. It is only a test.
Had it been an actual life, you would have received further instructions on where to go and what to do.

An aim in life is the only fortune worth the finding; and it is not to be found in foreign lands, but in the heart itself.

Robert Louis Stevenson

You can't hit a home run unless you step up to the plate. You can't catch fish unless you put your line in the water. You can't reach your goals if you don't try.

Kathy Seligman
Bottom line: Trying is the name of the game. The opportunities in life are simply gifts. Go get your share!

To know just what has to be done, then to do it, comprises the whole philosophy of practical life.

Sir William Osler

Rick Hansen

The tragedy of life doesn't lie in not reaching your goal. The tragedy lies in having no goal to reach. It isn't a calamity to die with dreams unfulfilled, but it is a calamity not to dream.... Goals. There's not telling what you can do when you get inspired by them. There's no telling what you can do when you believe in them. There's no telling what will happen when you act upon them.

Summing up dreams and goals...

Have you listened to Brian Tracy before? One idea that always comes to mind when I think of Brian Tracy is his idea of a major definite purpose. He really harps on it, and it's a good thing in my opinion. After all, if I had to hazard a guess I would say most people today stand for nothing at all. Having something to stand for is very powerful stuff.

Nonetheless, a major definite purpose -- that one thing that you devote your life to -- is heavy duty stuff! Do you have a major definite purpose in life? Do you want one? I'm going to guess you said "YES" you want that purpose in life. So then my next question is, how hard are you working on finding that purpose? How many books have you read in the last 90 days on goals, dreams, or a purpose in life?

I urge you to pick up such a book if dreaming big is something you like the sound of.

One of the best things a self improvement blog like this does is give your mind a dose of good stuff each and every day. Most people don't get enough and a lot of people get none at all. Kudos to you for taking the initiative!
